The Magic is in the Mundane

ree

I used to think magic had to look like big goals met, big moments celebrated, big changes made.

But lately? The most magical parts of my life don’t look like big anything.

They look like a quiet kitchen and a cup of coffee before the house wakes up.

They sound like my teen’s car pulling into the driveway after curfew—but safely.

They feel like a big sign after a chaotic day.

And maybe that’s the point.

Because the more I pay attention, the more I realize that joy doesn’t hide in the major moments.

Joy hangs out in the middle of all the ordinary. In the endless errands.

And the late night texts that say “I’m home.”

We are often waiting for the next thing, the college drop-off, the new routine, the schedule shift,

the season change. But I’ve learned the season is right now.

With its mix of chaos and quiet, feeling totally under appreciated…it is still full of purpose.

Still worth mastering.

So if today looks a little uneventful?

That’s not failure. That’s foundation.

And that is the magic.
