I'm so excited to introduce you to Britni from @itsbritniyup. She's a Minnesota blogger, mom of 2 adorable kiddos, and is all about a trendy affordable lifestyle. I met Britni this summer and immediately loved her fun nature and positive energy! She's genuine, authentic and all about living her truth. I can't wait for you all to meet her too!
Tell us all about you and your beautiful family!
Hi! My name is Britni, former kindergarten teacher turned stay at home mom. My daughter Nova is 2.5 and my son Teddy is just over a month old. I am engaged to Blake a fourth grade teacher and we have an American Staffordshire pup named Charley! If you’re reading this, I hope you check out my Instagram and we become friends, genuinely!

How do you keep life balanced especially being a mom of 2 and a blogger?
Oh goodness, that’s a loaded question. I guess I’d say I make a TON of to do lists sometimes even including, “shower” then I do my best to get the list done. I love a good planner, making notes in my phone is also a huge help. I will say, It’s harder now with a newborn, 2.5 year old and a new puppy, I’m just trying my best to make it work.

What’s your favorite go to meal?
Anything I don’t have to cook, haha. My fiancé has been making all these delicious meals lately, but if I’m just hungry for something for myself I am in love with grabbing a quick Perfect Bar. Come to my house at lunch time and I’m likely having that or a sandwich, I’m obsessed: salami, Turkey, spicy cheese, mustard, Mayo, jalapeño cheddar chips. Oh my goodness, yum. If we’re talking family friendly meals, I have several quick and easy ones on my instagram Reels tab.

As a new mom what’s been the best new product you’ve been using?
As for a baby item, I didn’t have the mamaroo with Nova and it’s been a huge help with Teddy. I haven’t been using anything new (product wise) with Teddy that I didn’t use with Nova but I’ll say to keep my face feeling fresh I swear by BeautyCounter balm. I use it for everything. I also found this cute brand “Nursing Queens” on instagram and have loved their pieces for nursing.

What’s your favorite date night?
What’s a date? Haha! I’ll be honest we have talked about needing to make more time for this. We love bringing the kids with us to everything we do so they don’t miss out but we do need our alone time as well and we know that. Since our kiddos have been born I’m ashamed to say we’ve only gone on two dates. So, anyone reading this feel free to send me all the tips on how to actually make dates happen.

Favorite family restaurant?
Oh goodness we LOVE to eat. Nova loves Buffalo Wild Wings so I guess I’d say there.
Favorite diaper bag?
I’ve never used a diaper bag. I haven’t found one that works for me so I just throw the necessities in whatever purse I’m carrying at the time. If I happen to have a small bag I’ll put what we need some reusable bag and stick it in the stroller. Any awesome diaper bags someone knows of send em my way!

What’s the one thing that you must have on a daily basis?
Coffee. Nightly glass (or glasses depending on the day) of Cabernet. I also drink a weird amount of water.
Do you have a favorite parenting resource, book, podcast, etc?
Confession: I’ve never listened to a podcast. I love leaning on my mom friends as a parenting resource and when I get the chance to read I’m all about a mystery/crime/suspense/ thriller.

What’s your favorite time of day?
Anytime I’m not exhausted. Haha just kidding. If I’m not too tired and get up before everyone I love those early morning hours. Getting things ready before they get up makes me feel so good, but let’s be real I love to sleep. So, I also love nighttime when I can be alone with just the baby or totally alone.

What’s a typical day look like for you?
To be frank, keeping the tiny humans & pup alive... Sometimes that’s outside as much as possible, somedays we get more screen time, sometimes it’s following Nova around playing whatever interests her and if I have my stuff together I love making sensory bins for her! I focus a lot on how I talk with her to help with her expressive language delay.

What advice would you give for a mom who is going from 1 to 2 kids?
Give yourself grace. I’m horrible at that as my type A personality wants me to be able to do it all, but it’s hard in a regular day and harder with two. Some days are a breeze and others I can’t wait for dad to get home. Having Teddy has taught me so much and one of the big ones has been to just let the day come and meet any challenges with as much kindness to myself as possible.

Isn't she the BEST! Definitely pop over and check out her Instagram page. She shares useful tips and you'll definitely want to take a page out of her playbook!
